Hey guys!
Obviously I've joined the forum, (yay!) and I decided to post this for discussion sake, just something interesting to ponder about.
I'm not certain if any of you have seen this by chance, (and you probably have XD) but I just so happened to be watching the SciFi channel, and a few different "spook" themed shows were running...
This one was titled, "Ghost Adventures" (somewhat cheesy if you ask me) and was a bit amateur-ish-- though the intention was there to make a good ghost documentary... the show it's self was for the most part very uneventful. I can't say that I can blame the young men working on it, because quite frankly as we all know; ghosts don't work on que.
Aside from all of this, they chose nice locations with good history, got a few clear EVPs and some minor footage. Until of course, they happened to go to their last and most favoured location: The Goldfield Hotel. (Supposedly one of the most haunted locations in the U.S.)
The hotel it's self has a pretty sinister history, and they had an older lady who had been one of the caretakers for perhaps a decade or more (if I can recall correctly) take them through the hotel and give them the whole mumbo-jumbo shpeal about everything that happened there.
Needless to say, the history is almost straight forward: Hotel built in the gold rush area (hence the name, "Goldfield") and had some nice unsavory people wandering it's halls creating all sorts of hell for other guests and whomever else.
So-- to the cream filling....
The young gentlemen filming this project are thus locked in and are planning to stay the whole night through filming in complete darkness (since there is no working electricity there) and getting whatever ghostly goodies they can.
When the pair happen to go into the basement, they capture on film some pretty convincing footage... that would make even some hardcore skeptics scratch their heads (please forgive me, I yoinked this clip off of Youtube so it's obviously not in the best quality):
(In case you are not quite certain what you are looking for/at-- as the guy on camera moves into the room and "taunts" the "poltergeist", a brick goes flying across screen. There are other longer clips, and more in depth where several bricks and even a 2x4 are seen being thrown)
I'll personally admit, I am very skeptical of ghost footage half the time, simply because most of it is some sort of technical error or much too convenient to be just coincidence... but this is pretty good.
These gentlemen did in fact take the footage to a video specialist to have it "proofed", so no one could question it as a fake. Though-- that's not all ways as accurate as need be, knowing all that it is people can do with video these days-- BUT, it's still a pretty nice clip. Authenticity is in the eye of the beholder, is where my belief stands... just some food for thought I hope you enjoy it.
And don't be afraid to look the clip up on Youtube! There are some other bits from this show that are worth looking in to as well.
