Ok, the next big push is going to be the Hotel. We have the deep need to discuss and decide about the rooms by the next week or two, otherwise we might endanger our chances of getting something that is affordable to Josh and Myself.
Now, with Josh's connections, he can't make a discounted reservation until 90 days before the Con. The original thought was to reserve a room at one of the Choice Hotels close to the Con, then see if we could get the room moved over to the discount when the time came.
This makes me a little nervous, to say the least, but I'm a bit of a nervous nelly.
The price of that particular hotel is (without discount) about $127 a night. [which would come out to being 115$ cheaper overall, but possibly more expensive in parking/time spent hauling our asses across streets to the Con.]
Now for about 33 bucks more, we could get a double at the Hilton/Hyatt/Marriot, which are the Hotel's that are connected with the Con. I've heard a rumor that its SO much easier to get around when you've booked a room at the actually hotel. The price breakdown of that is as follows:
[Thursday August 30- Monday Sept 3, 750$, divided by four 187.50$ a piece for Joo guys, and 375$ for Me & Josh for 5 days. ]
Additional expenses will include Parking in Atlanta, which will cost between 5-10 dollars a day, if we stay put. (most cheap parking decks apparently dont' offer "in-and-out privileges", which would mean hoofing it if we felt like doing something else than D*Con while we were in Atlanta.
Thoughts?
